Good day fine reader, nice to welcome you here to a new college of Dutch Designers Outlet her Lingerie and Swimwear expert. At the time of writing, the first days of spring are a true fact. Although the mercury did not rise sky-high, outdoor cafes were filled and many people managed to pick up the sun's rays. If that doesn't give you the summer jitters, we don't know what does. This blog addresses the summer jitters and the question: "What to wear over your bikini?

The answer is simple: a tunic over bikini. And not to end with a cliffhanger; our collection of women's beachwear consists of more than the tunic. So you can easily buy a beach dress, kimono, pareo or kaftan at Dutch Designers Outlet. And for a price that will make you look stylish. But more on that later.

Going to the beach in a swimsuit, bikini or tankini?

In other blogs I wrote about which bikini is suitable for which body type and which swimsuit will look best on you if you have a belly. Not all ladies have the same fashionable look in that one swimsuit. So it is important to first find out for yourself which type of swimsuit you like best. After all, you want to look good on the beach but, also feel good. A tunic is just icing on the cake.

Of course I'm happy to help you, if you're not quite sure or unsure about your size. Because whatever you choose, the foundation of your beach babe look starts with a well-fitting set of swimwear. So don't hesitate and pick up that phone to call customer service.

Beachwear adds color to all terraces

I can look forward to the long summer evenings we can look forward to. Warm balmy summer evenings are slowly but surely coming and oh how nice that it is light for so long in the evening. That also stretches the hours on a nice terrace, after a hot strenuous summer day: walk to the beach, sit on your towel or something more luxurious on your terrace chair, put on lotion, walk to the sea, swim a bit, come back, dry off and lie there. Welcome to my ideal world!

After a day like that, you have a huge thirst, tell me about it. So you want to quickly and comfortably hoist yourself into an adorable sneeze to sit down to the big cocktail or a fine ice cream sundae as soon as possible.

Just like the many flip-flops you may observe on a terrace, a beauty of a beach outfit is actually also mandatory fare. Beachwear - mostly made of light and airy material - can be found in all shapes and sizes. The tunic is the most famous but a kaftan is, in my opinion, just a little more fashionable. The difference is that the kaftan is longer and therefore a bit more like a dress.

Slap that pareo around the hips ladies

The beachwear category definitely includes the pareo, or shawl. Surely this is a fantastic item to always have with you. Because you can wear this beautiful piece of fabric, often square and large, with prints in bright flowers or Ibiza-style images, in many ways. We start by simply buttoning it over your bikini or swimsuit. And you instantly have a pretty dress. Or use the points to tie it into a halter dress at your neck. Brilliant right. Or tie it casually around your waist for a jaunty skirt. Beautiful if your pareo matches your top, of course. You can go out on the terrace.

And finally, use it as a bag. Yes really! You tie the points together to make a nice handle and a bag is created in which you carry your flip-flops, your bottle of water and your sunburn. Stick another magazine in there and you won't have to change places until the shadow passes you.

The pareo is often only available in one size. No fuss and just one size fits most. Nice and clear. Just like the price: sharp!

The beach tunic is more than beachwear

Not so handy with buttons? No problem. Our favorite swimwear brands hook up a pretty, slightly transparent dress in no time and you can match it beautifully with your bikini, tankini or swimsuit. Quick, nice and easy.

And what about the shirt dress, or tunic? One of my personal favorites. Looks chic, feels great, walks elegantly and fits beautifully. The tunic comes just over the bum but if you want it a little longer, the kaftan is your thing.

By the way, the tunic is also a perfect item at the beach, to wear between two and four when you need to protect your sensitive skin from the sun. Just another reason to order another pina colada or tasty mocktail under an umbrella. I see ladies walking with a tunic over (or in) their jeans much more often. Especially with very hot days, in a city where the heat doesn't know what to do with itself. Then suddenly such a beach tunic is a versatile choice and also nice and airy.

Don't panic about a tunic

There's no reason to panic if you're not quite ready for summer. With a cotton kaftan, a fine tunic or a good pareo you will steal the beach show and get the free patio pass. The advantages of this beachwear are as follows: Made of light and airy material that dries quickly and can take a beating. And: often iron-free! That's easy!

So ladies, when you pack your bag for the vacations you won't be overweight anytime soon with these beautiful items. Totally awesome right? And for the price as you find them with us, you can easily take two. So filter in our webshop on your favorite color and a nice list of beachwear will appear. Don't worry about the price, we keep it as low as possible.

Ladies, spend a small portion of your vacation money on the perfect beach outfit this year and you'll tumble right into the hippest lounge tent in your tunic, on your crisp flip-flops and wearing the prettiest bikini.
